Direct Payment Security
All payments are made directly. Milestones define when payments are due based on deliverable approval.
Pre-Approval Cancellation
Cancel any active milestone before work is submitted to halt payment obligations without penalty.
Dispute Resolution
If deliverables fail our universal quality standards, our mediation team steps in to resolve issues fairly.
1. Direct Payment Framework
QuikkLance operates on a direct payment framework. This means clients pay freelancers directly (via agreed-upon methods such as Bank Transfer, PayPal, or UPI) once a milestone is approved. Because QuikkLance does not hold funds in escrow, refunds are bound by mutual agreement or dispute mediation outcomes.
2. In-Progress Cancellations
Either party may request contract cancellation during active operations:
- Before Submission: If the freelancer hasn't submitted any deliverables (code, design files, or drafts), the client can cancel the milestone without any payment obligation.
- After Submission: Once deliverables are uploaded, the client must review them. If the work does not meet the agreed brief or our Quality Assurance standards, the client can request revisions. If an agreement cannot be reached, a dispute is opened.
Strict Non-Refundable Scenarios
Once a client explicitly clicks the "Approve Deliverable" button, they legally accept the work as complete. Payments made post-approval are considered final and non-refundable, as intellectual property rights are transferred.
3. Fixed-Price vs. Hourly Contracts
Refund and cancellation rules vary slightly depending on the contract type:
Fixed-Price Milestones
Payment is tied directly to the approval of a specific deliverable. If the deliverable is rejected and mediation rules in favor of the client, no payment is owed.
Hourly Contracts
Hourly contracts are billed based on logged time. Disputed time logs must be reported within 5 days of the billing cycle end. Approved time logs cannot be refunded.
4. Dispute Mediation
If a refund request or cancellation leads to a disagreement, QuikkLance's Trust & Safety team will mediate the dispute. We analyze chat histories, initial project briefs, and uploaded files against our Quality Standards to issue a binding resolution within 48-72 hours.
